Helping the leader
Right now I think I'm helping my leader when I'm making some riders go 85-85-60-60-60, while my leader has 60-60-60-75-85 for example. So he doesn't fall out of the peloton. I would like to know this since otherwise I'm just wasting my riders' energy.

Re: Helping the leader
Your leader gets help when he has teammates in the same group therefore what you are doing can be needed in certain situations and varies with the strength of your riders.
Examples:
A simple flat stage and you have a good sprinter with strong flat, sprint, resistance and stamina plus teammates that are also strong in flat, resistance and stamina you could go something like
leader 60/60/60/70/90spr
team 60/60/75/75/90
team 60/60/60/80/90spr
team 60/60/70/70/90
because your leader is strong enough not to get dropped and your teammates are also strong enough to get to the finish not using too much energy they can help for the final sprint.
However if the race is much more selective your helpers will need to use more energy to stay with the leaders and not be dropped straight away. For example a hilly cobbled race. You have a leader that is well suited but teammates that aren’t quite as good for the race so they would need something like you were doing.
leader 60/60/60/70/90spr still leaving as much for the end as possible
team 80/85/90/60/50 \
team 75/75/85/85/60 -just example that depend on rider strength.

Re: Helping the leader
But will the teammates help the leader not to drop by riding at a higher %?
So imagine that they are all good suited riders. But it's hilly cobble all the way.
My leader is at 60-60-60-70-90 but the other teams try to break the peloton in the 3rd part of the race. Will a teammate that is on 60-60-85-85-60 help the leader not to drop out of the peloton?
