Expérience des coureurs (rider experience)
Hi - I read through the topic ... https://velo-manager.forum-pro.fr/t108p20-experience-des-coureurs#36371 ... using Google translate, and have about 90% understanding . I wanted to add a comment or two, and thought it best to use English.
I agree with:
(Another example - fighter pilots. The survival rate for their first five air battles is dramatically lower than for their 6th-10th, due to experience.)
So, just to make the programming more of a headache , consider having riders gain experience fast at the outset, and slower (.5, .4, .3, .2, .1, or something, for first five races?) and then .1 (or whatever) for participating in races regardless of placement until Experience reaches a plateau of 30 or 50. Then, to earn Experience beyond that, riders must finish in the top 30, or stay with the first group through the 4th Trancon, or be racing in D1 or D2, or some other standard/metric you decide that requires some quality in his performance to earn additional XP. (For RL example, how much experience does Richard Virenque gain on the days he sits at the back of the peloton versus the experience he gains on the stages where he fights for KOM points? His DS and I would probably argue '0.0' for the first example, and maximum for the second example.) At some point, 'just being there' stops being valuable for Experience.
Also, I agree with your posts that the race impact of Experience will be greater at low XP levels than at higher XP levels. Example: look all the races Robbie McEwen has won with little or no leadout just because he's such a clever and experienced finisher. His high XP is worth a couple placements, easily.
Thanks for reading!
I agree with:
Gaining Experience does not happen in a linear manner. It's more logarithmic. Think of a racer at his first race - he signs in on the wrong line, exhausts himself warming up, misses every break, and rides to the wrong team car for drinks. He gains a lot more experience in his first five races than in his 101st-105th races. In the same way, he is virtually useless in his first 5 races as compared to his 101st-105th races.paulo la science a écrit:Je te donne mon expérience des jeux qui en ont :
- course normale : 0.1 pt/course

Yes, it's not exacly what we have in the game but it's similar :
In the game :
You always win the same experience riding races.
But the difference between a rider who have 0xp and another who have 5xp is bigger than a rider who have 10xp and another who have 15xp.
So it's not the same method, but the result is the same !
